Elizabeth & Abhishek
Some stories are best understood when you stay till the last photograph. And Elizabeth and Abhishek's wedding is one of them. They had a plan. A wedding they had imagined, planned, and waited for through months of preparation: a bespoke wedding gown crafted especially for Elizabeth, traditions they had pictured together, and beloved family members travelling from different corners of the world to stand beside them. And then, just one day before the wedding ceremony, Elizabeth was diagnosed with chickenpox. In a split second, everything had to change. When the morning arrived, the church was far quieter than they had originally imagined. Only a handful of immediate family members could be present inside the sanctuary. Elizabeth wasn't in the elaborate gown she had dreamed of; there was no hours-long getting-ready session, no professional makeup, and none of the typical bustle that fills a wedding morning. But there was Abhishek standing right beside her. There were their families, handling an overwhelming situation with steady calm, boundless love, and gentle patience. Nobody allowed the sudden disruption to take away from the sanctity and meaning of their vows. They stood together, held hands, and made the day beautiful. A few days later, after Elizabeth had fully recovered, we met again for an unhurried morning shoot at Stay Samara in Kottayam. This time, she wore the gown she had dreamed of, and they walked through the sunlit lawns together. Yet those quiet photographs from the church will always remain among our favourites—because they remind us that when plans fall apart, love and family are what truly stand firm.
